Miguel Cotto-Manny Pacquiao bout set for November in Las Vegas

Philippines own World Boxing Champ Pacquiao (49-3-2, 37 KOs) is finally fighting with Miquel Cotto (34-1, 27 KOs) of Puerto Rico in Las Vegas this Fall 2009. This 145 lb match is predicted to be one of the biggest fights of the fall after both fighters emerged victorious in their previous fights. Two more Pinoy Boxers Win World Boxing Titles

The latest boxing match held in Araneta Coliseum, Philippines on April 19, 2009 made the country again proud as it bagged a double win of the World Titles that night. Donaire knocked down Martinez four times Sunday to win by TKO and defended his IBF flyweight crown. This made Pinoy crowd lauded with uproar chant for Donaire’s name. Philippines Tops Earth Hour Energy Savings

For the first time since the launch of Earth hour in 2007, Philippines made it to the highest among other the countries that participated in the March 28 8:30-:30 Earth hour campaign. According to World Wildlife Fund (WWF) it was 650 cities that switched off its lights for Earth Hour totaling to a more than 15 million Filipinos.
